TOPIC: other unicharger options

Is there any other options that someone has to do away with the unicharger and it's components. I would like to use later parts in order to be able to get parts more easily. Is there someone whom has updated the external box to the later under the cowl parts?
I have a 1963 75hp. Evinrude with electromatic shift.
It has an alternator with battery ignition.
I have 2 unicharger boxes and they are both rusted/corroded.
Have seen the regulator/rectifiers on ebay for the later models and was wondering if they could be made to work on the older engines.
