I have been runnning lead substitute in my 62 Homelite. Should I continue? I guess it wouldn't hurt. What do you think?

I just looked into this recently, Chevron did a study since we've been without lead for sometime and found most prehardseat engines running unleaded had no problems. If the engine was pushed to it's limit all the time then the problems arose.

I still have some left. So I'm going to continue to use it. As long as I can still get the lead substitute I'm going to keep using it on my Homelite. I don't know how many hours is on this motor. I didn't do a total overhaul on it.
I normally just cruise around at low RPMS. It's on my pontoon. But once in awhile I will run her full tilt so I figure the additive won't hurt.

I have worked on cars all my life and never figured out what the lead in gas was suppose to lub the valve seat or the stem.
Anybody know for sure?.
