I came home, went to the old address and couldn't post a message - we had been moved without being advised!

I am not surprised and think it is a good action which will probably result in a more stable site with better access. Fiberglassics have been good to host us for so long ... it is correct we become a part of the main site.

Can those who control please post a message (on the old site) to advise those who visit that this is the new location?

Will we be able to access all the old posts? And all the humor that went with the banter?

Well I guess its about time, the old 1998 board was lucky to last as long as it did.
I think most who posted on the old place will take it easy on the nubies. It does take a bit to get used to us and the NUT....LOL.
Hey Ken, Ya still gona make a trip out here? beloit is in August!
Oh and yes Erics boat is a real must see! And drive! Its without a dought the most solid G3 I have ever been in!......I would put a lil more hp on it though.....LOL!

we had to as the old format database was corrupted and it would continue to happen, resulting in frustration on everyone's part.

For the last couple of days, tried with no success to access the former forum.
No distress here, just figured the old site was having another one of it's frequent hiccups.
I knew you would get around to fixing it, as you have done in the past.
Did not expect a move to the new and improved version.
To start, I'd like to say thanks for all of the behind the scenes work it took to keep the old site running.
I know you have spent countless hours tending it so those of us who enjoyed that old format could continue to do so.
Unfortunately, the reality is, the old format's days were numbered, a long time ago.
For those who want to snivvel about the necessity of changing,
I say, "show me your coding skills and your willingness to fix stuff in the wee hours of the morning, so a bunch of guys who are getting a free service can complain at whim."

Even tho the G-3 forum is one of the oldest existing elements of FG,
It was never a democracy!

Its not the bulletin board software that makes the forum, its the forum's community.

As Pathfinderz previously mentioned, others may need to get use to the humor and the banter that I've enjoyed very much on the old G3 site... so to the rest of the Glassheads: please don't get in a huff when the NUT and OMC posse wrangle the Merc guys about their Kookyhuffers and Clatterboxes... they get it right back with a grin

... You might get to see the humorous Dark Side of Dr. Frankenmerc when the NUT has it coming.

I hope we dont see any less enthusiasm! The G3'ers generally seem to carry just a bit more adrenaline just like the boats have.

All in great fun.

Well, as an "outsider" (I don't own a G3) I'm kinda glad to see the forum moved over here. I enjoy reading anything boat related, and I'm sure there is plenty of good info that would cross over to other brands and models as well. This will make it easier to peruse, and keep up with more news and knowledge about our "hobby/obsession"! I'll try not to clutter up the forum with posts not related to G3's, just wanted to say hello, and welcome.

Ok the fun begains. Were are the darkside guys and the omc guys we need to get something going. If it wasn't for the fun we have here our G3 site would have died. And we do have some good info on our boat too.
Now for some bad news I won't be getting and work done on any of my boats till next year. Heres the bad part the surgery they did to repair the artery on my leg has gone down and there is nothing more they can do. So now I lose the leg at the knee. This is not something new I have expected it to happen for 5 years now. I'm trying to put off the surgery till Aug. Now its time to start playing pirate. I wll need a cannon for my boat. The wife is getting me a ear ring and eye patch and a parrot to sit no my shoulder. And I will have to carve my peg leg. If I'm going to lose the leg I may as well have some fun with it.
Ok guys we are over here so lets make the best of it.

as to the, well I will use the term "bravado" being transfered here, I dont think so.
moderators, wanna be moderators they will be telling some one to calm it down, its going to far, it always happens and it dosent matter if its a drunk on the other end of the keyboard thats needs to hear it straight, that site was fun because it wasnt moderated

...you post something someone doesnt like & the silly Karma games begin......I AM from the Dark side & this Homey dont play that game

I don't look at Karma, I hope she doesn't look at me... but I was on one website that had it and I got a negative one which pissed me off. I personally would be proud of a negative 50, maybe we can reward you, that is hard to achieve!

You must have po'd some people!

As for moderators, we'll set up the same ones that are on the other boards so there won't be any unfair moderation. We really don't do much as moderators these days except look for spammers...

we dont need moderation, If the G3 guys do become too problematic here for the general membership
I have a board setup doing nothing...its an unpublished backup/code testing board
and they are welcome to it

HA... Madprops, that is great! I have wondered for quite a while how the heck you deserved a -50. I've never read anything from you that would deserve even a -1. I even gave you a Karma point once... took you up to a big -49, but it didnt last but a day or so (so you must have found it and fixed it).

Good to see lots of the guys over here....just checked in, thanks to an email from Ken alerting me to the change, thanks. Looks like this will work great, and be good for all of us. Hope everyone is having a great summer....still waiting for sunshine up here. Summer hasn't really started yet and were halfway to August! But no weather extremes at either end so I am thankful, but still waiting for sun!!!!!

Just got home from a Florida Glasspar Club, boat meet, (Bluegrass Chapter), in Chatanooga, Tn and 4 more days in the Smokey Mountains at Gatlinberg, Tn.

Bought a cabin in the Tennessee mountains too!!!! See pic of it here!! Got it cheap and will be renting it most of the time for vacationers!!!
