North American Boat Corporation

This company first started marking boats in 1963 with the S-22 model. In 1964, of their 22' S-22 models won the Miami to Nassau race in the outboard motor division. The boat was driven Howard Weller and the motors were twin stock 1964 Johnson 90 HP motors. The '64 Miami-Nassau race was the roughest on record with 4 to 6' seas and 25 mph winds. Their boats were exhibited at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. The August 1965 issue of Rudder had an article about water-testing the North American S-22. Gondolier magazine also had an article about North American in their August 1966 issue.


This company is entirely unrelated to North American Boats of Indiana.
