August 1 – 12, 2016   The Youth Boat Building Program is  for boys and girls ages 12 and up. Students will build their own boat from a kit they select between August 1st and August 12th, weekdays only from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The kits available for purchase are a one-person canoe $695, a one-person kayak $995, and a Bevin’s Skiff that will accommodate two adults $1,195. Students will be taught the safe use of hand and a limited number of small power tools, to assemble the kits. At the end of the session, a special launching on Lake Wentworth will be held to celebrate the completion of the student’s craft. Deadline for applications and pre-payment must be received by June 1st.
August 6, 2016  The Lake Wentworth Sailing Regatta is at Albee Beach on Lake Wentworth.  There will be four classes of boats racing: Optis, Sunfish, Catamarans, and Mono Hulls.  The New Hampshire Boat Museum’s 11 Dinghies and 9 Sunfish will be available to use on a first reserve basis.  This event is open to sailors of all ages and there will be an intermediate and advanced racing courses available.  Registration is from noon to 1:45 and racing begins at 2:00.
August 11, 2016  Visit historic and new boathouses on Lake Winnipesaukee in the only tour of its kind! Three ways to take the tour: on water in a vintage wooden boat, by land in your own car, or by land in an antique automobile. This event is hosted by the New Hampshire Boat Museum and all ticket holders receive free admission to the Museum on this day.  On-water and antique car tickets sell out fast! Purchase tickets at the Museum, by phone, or on-line. Two water tour times: 9:00am & 1:00pm. Three antique car tour times: 9:00am, 11:00am, & 1:00pm. Ticket prices:  Members – Land Tour $36, Antique Car Tour $67.50, & Water Tour $135;  Not-Yet-Members – Land Tour $40, Antique Car Tour $75, Water Tour $150.  9am-4pm. (RAIN DATE: Friday 8/12)
August 13, 2016  Join the New Hampshire Boat Museum for this informal, non-judged vintage boat show held at the Alton Bay town dock as part of the Alton Old Home Day. No advance registration necessary. All “woodies” welcome on a first-come-first-served basis.
August 18, 2016  7:00 pm – 8:30 pm  A special screening of the film “Atwood,” the story of the schooner “Atwood” known on Lake Winnipesauke as “the black pirate ship.”  This unique event will be held at the Village Players Theatre in downtown Wolfeboro. Co-sponsored by the Village Players. Refreshments served. $5 per person.
August 27, 2016  All boats welcome from wooden to fiberglass! Participants meet at the Wolfeboro town docks at 8:30am and follow the group to five stops to receive your poker chips. Return to Wolfeboro for lunch at the Wolfetrap Grill & Raw Bar Restaurant at 1pm. Winning poker hands awarded prizes. This is a fun event for all boaters and is not a race.
