thanks guys,i appreciate it.
doug the whole bells and base will have to be painted,the only good chrome is the 3 round pieces,i paint with the anodized paint,mettalic,its a engine paint good up to around 600 degrees,if you click on the pics you can see the mettalic details,the only colors that i can get around here are the blue and yellow/gold,red,blue and purple,the blue and yellew/gold you can see above.
does anyone know who made these horns?ive never seen them before ,and there is no maker mark.
and eric i worked on your wheel today,ill post pics in the other thread.
and by the way really cool boat doug!!!,john

Harbor Frt sells a cheap airhorn kit for $20-$25, you can throw the plastic trumpets away and use the compressor and hose to run the vintage horns. BTW John, I never was able to find the right fitting for the bottom of the gold horns, so I drilled and re-tapped it to a size that I could find the fitting for.

They're ready to go now, but may end up on my Custom Craft instead.

boy doug im sorry,it looks like blue will be it,i even had my wife flip a coin between blue and yellow 3 times and heads won all 3 times,lol.
but to make up for it,if you have a set a horns i can paint them yellow ,and ill do it free because i feel bad about it.
well the garge is heated up now so out to work on starcrafts wheel and the horns ,while the wheel is drying.john

i went out to the garage and sanded and put some epoxy on starcrafts wheel.
while it dried i finshed sanding and painting and buffing the minihorns,there are a couple of scratches onthe chrome but not bad,and i got a small part of a finger print on the base,lol,ill have to redo that,lol.there are 5 pics total,im on dial up.john

heck,ive been thinking it over,and i cant make my friends pay for these horns,you have been to good to me,im going to give them away,i would include free shipping but cant right now.
so i have to figure out a fair way to figure out who gets them.
ok,i think what ill do is write down a number from 0 to 9,the one that guesses the right number will win,ill run this until all numbers are picked,only one guess per person.
the guy who sent them to me paid $8.60 to send them to me,so thats what the shipping will be,if it goes over i will cover it.
besides they arent perfect,and i cant sell them if they are not.
i wrote the number down and put it in and envelope,and sealed it and put a sticker on it,when all numbers are picked...mickey mouse is kaput,lol,john
