The Sumner Boat Company trademarked the brand "Compoglas" a wood hull with fiberglass covering. This was filed March 30, 1954 and specified first use in commerce as Feb. 16, 1954. The "Sumnercraft" trademark was filed May 4, 1955 and granted November 11, 1955.
