Another fiberglass boat-builder with a similar name, the Mermaid Boat Company, was located at Kendallville, Indiana.


This company is likely the same as the Mermaid Marine Co. listed as owned by Mercer Industries. According to a Feb. 28, 1960 article in the Milwaukee Sentinel, Harold Redding sought capitol to form the Rhinelander Marine Manufacturing Co., Inc. at Rhinelander, Wisconsin. This was to be another boat manufacturing firm. At the time of the article, he was listed as president of Mermaid Marine Mfg. Co. and Hill Archery Co.
