Dr. Lindsay Lord was a naval architect specializing in small boat design. Active in designing fast, planing hulls before WWII, he entered Navy service and is reported to be part of the PT Boat design team. With the boom in recreational boating, Lord created novel designs for Lancer Industries in 1957 and also his own experimental cruiser, the Lindomar. This boat was used in a Dearborn Interceptor advertisement in 1961.

He authored two books including "Naval Architecture of Planing Hulls" (1946 & 1963) and "Nautical Etiquette and Customs" (1987) by Cornell Maritime Press.
