Every year Madisonville and the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum pay tribute to the hand crafted wooden boats of the Gulf Coast. Hundreds of boats will line the banks of the Tchefuncte River as 30,000 wooden boat enthusiasts come to celebrate the wonders of wood and water.
Plenty of free parking, contests, parades, music, good food, crafts, artists and easy access make the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival one of the most popular events in the South.
* The Tchefuncte River Bridge will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Sunday, 10/?from 2:00 – 3:30 pm due to the Quick’n Dirty Parade and Contest.
