What:  Antique Yachtsman’s Regatta

Where:  The Glenwood Club, Keuka Lake (about four miles up the east side from the Hammondsport launch)

When:  Saturday, June 23rd

Check-in:  1 pm at The Glenwood

Who:  Anyone that has a wooden boat (Member or Non-Member of Wine Country)

Cost:  10 per boat per couple

The idea is to cruise boats at a normal cruising speed (not racing) of each boat across a start line in synchronization with the starters’ flags.  At a time later in the cruise, when the pace boat makes an agreed upon visual signal, all boats should turn to port and proceed back to the start line at the same constant speed.  The winner is the boat which crosses the start/finish line first.  However, all boats should cross the finish line at the same time.  We will all head out from the Glenwood Club, located at 468 East Lake Road, Route 54, Hammondsport (approx. 5 – 8 miles north of Hammondsport and about 5 miles south of The Switz) and we will finish there as well.

Now, the idea here is to get everyone out on the water for a fun afternoon in their wooden boat.  Wine Country will provide hot dogs and hamburgers and everyone should bring a dish to pass and their favorite beverage.  All you will need to do is contact me, Jack Young and I will send you an enrollment form along with the “rules of the event.”  If you are not a member of Wine Country Classic Boats, that’s OK  We welcome your participation with some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!

Thanks and we hope to see you on June 23rd!
