Title: 34th Annual Lake Arrowhead Antique & Classic Boat Show
Lake Arrowhead is our premiere show of the year, and a unique opportunity to boat on this private lake in “the Alps of Southern California.” Bring a jacket and a parasol, as some years the weather has been chilly and breezy, while other years have been sunny and hot!
As this is a private lake, and home to an active water ski school, it is important to respect the lake’s rules (included in this packet), and return your completed “Arrowhead Lake Safety Test” as part of your registration packet.
In order to be included in this year’s show program, your boat picture and bio/description must be received by May 4th, 2018 (or on file from last year’s show). Late registrations will be accepted through May 31, but your boat may not be included in the show program.
Our boats will be displayed at the “Mc Donald’s” docks, open to the public on Saturday. Come and go as you please, whether to take a speed run or to explore the lake-side scenery. Proceeds from public admission to the show will benefit both our Southern California chapter and the Rim of the World Historical Society (which is committed to preserving the history of the communities of the San Bernardino Mountains). Both groups will have merchandise for sale outside the gate, and our club merchandise will also be available for purchase at the Friday night dinner.
The Up the Hill Woodie Club will display their terrific vehicles along the waterfront, and the Antique Outboard Motor Club will also have some of their treasures on display.
This is an opportunity to have your boat judged by the experts in our club. As stated on acbs.org, judging standards “create an incentive to restore and maintain vessels on interest to a high level of quality. This promotes pride of ownership and a concern for authenticity, which is then recognized through the presentation of awards.” And we have some beautiful perpetual trophies to award, several of which have been in the club since our first Lake Arrowhead show in 1985!
Don’t forget: if your boat won an award in 2017, to have your name engraved by your local trophy shop before you return the trophy to be awarded this year!
Discounted group rate accommodation to the following members for their help in organizing this event: John Maddox, Vickie Killeen and the booth crew, Dave Anderson (coordinator emeritus); as well as Greg Naylor and everyone from the Rim of the World Historical Society; and Rick Reisenhofer, Arrowhead Lake Safety Supervisor.
All the Best from your show coordinator,
Chuck Tobin, Bob Newcomer, Maggi & Rob Cassell
