Brigantine Fair Jeanne Visits Museum
110’ Canadian Tall Ship On Her Way to Canals

KINGSTON, NY – The Hudson River Maritime Museum is pleased to host the Canadian brigantine Fair Jeanne from Thursday, September 21 through Saturday, September 24, 2017.

At 110 feet long, the Fair Jeanne has sailed the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Adriatic, and regularly plies the St. Lawrence River and Great Lakes, logging over 130,000 nautical miles since she was first launched in 1982.

Based out of Ottawa she is operated by Bytown Brigantine, Inc., a non-profit organization founded by Simon Fuller, who designed and built the Fair Jeanne. Today, she continues her sail training origins by providing youth with opportunities to build leadership, character, and self-esteem through adventure. Bytown Brigantine, Inc. offers short introductory voyages as well as 21-day high school credit voyages. Like the St. Lawrence II, Fair Jeanne also has a bursary program, to ensure that no child is left ashore due to lack of funds.

Fair Jeanne is stopping at the Hudson River Maritime Museum to downrig and un-step her masts prior to motoring through the Erie Canal and to the Great Lakes for the season.

The crew of Fair Jeanne will be providing free public deck tours from Friday, September 22nd from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, September 23rd from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
