I was in another town looking to buy a motor and the guy showed me his sons boat. It was laminated like a Yellowjacket, was a rear steer, with a mid deck and wide bow like a Penn Yan Swift. Had a meatier front deck though, and a full spray rail. Beautiful Boat! Who else built boats like a yellowjacket, or could it have been a rear steer Yellowjacket?

Paul,

SOUNDS LIKE a Carter-Craft of the mid-1950s. = Carter-Craft made a LOT of twin cockpit hulls until about 1958 or so & some Carter-Craft built hulls were "badge engineered" FOR OTHER COMPANIES..

There were MANY "small & independent builders" of molded-plywood boats between WWII & 1970, so it could easily be some other builder's work.
(TEXAS alone had at least a dozen plywood builders.)

Photos would be helpful.

yours, satx

Unfortunately it's a 1/2 hour drive to take a picture. When he's ready to sell it I'll get him to send a pic in at this web site. Thanks for the info.
