That's awesome. I've never seen a picture of a new one.

We just packed ours up for the winter.
I bought it this summer for my 16 year old son, but it's really my project at this point.
I started fixing it up bit by bit. There was a lot of water coming into the boat and I fixed some of the holes.
Of course, the more I look at it, the bigger the project becomes. I don't have any workspace like you, so I am limited to the great outdoors.
The rope ties that go through the transom both leak a lot of water, so I am going to take them out and fix them properly in the spring. I suspect that the transom is just wet rotted wood at this point.So I don't know how well that's going to work.
I'm toying with the idea of painting the hull black and getting some red seats.
The 1987short shaft 35hp Merc runs really well and does not even seem overpowered. My son thinks a 50hp would be nice. It has a foil on the shaft. Very stable, but jumps around in rough water.
Funny that it is rated for a 15hp.

Keep watching this rebuild to get info on what could make the boat work better but please replace the transom to make the boat safe . It takes work but you will have something to last
