TOPIC: Interceptor engine ID?

Hi all, this is my first post to this forum, but I've been a passive looker for a while now. I have a 1964 hydrodyne interceptor 17' boat, and am having some trouble identifying the engine. It is a Ford v8, with "interceptor" on both exhaust manifolds. The number I found on the front of the engine is NORA93R317857 (picture attached). Does anyone know what this number translates to? Thanks!!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Good to be here. Here are a few more pics of the engine and boat - these are part of a set of pics I took pre-restoration to remember where things are, so they don't quite show a full shot of the engine. What do you guys think? Someone told me it's a 289, but I want to make sure.
