Gentlemen,

I recently acquired a 1962 Hydrodyne 17' runabout with a Volvo Penta Aquamatic 100 outdrive. The boat has mostly been restored but needs some fine tuning.

Is anyone familiar with the hydraulic tilt mechanism used on these boats? There is a manual pump located just forward of the throttle mechanism with a single hydraulic line running back to a cylinder which is integral to the steering mechanism mounted on the transom.

None of the Volvo Penta installation or parts manuals I have show this device.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I remember one of Jeff (Ponyboy) video's where he had a similar system in one of his boats, Ugly Peg maybe? You pumped the handle to raise, turned a thumbscrew to lower? That was an outboard application, but I believe they are similar in function.
