I've been in Costa Rica for the past 11 days but somehow managed to lose three Karma points. Obviously, I don't even have to say a word or even be on the same continent to irritate people. Is this some kind of a record? Does setting a record get me any karma points? I'm so upset, I might go out and do something stupid...like buy a pontoon boat. Somebody throw me a bone!

I'm thinking you went shopping at Target, and your Karma account was hacked ?

Doing something stupid for you, isn't buying a pontoon...
I'd say you buying an outboard motor, would qualify you for the looney bin ?

I didn't take your points, I don't even know what they're for ?

Have fun in Costa Rica ! Bring back some warm weather for the rest of us !!!

Thanks for the vote, Bob. Chuck: Yes, I did actually consider buying a 2-cycle "egg beater" for a few minutes. That was close. Fortunately, Bob came to my rescue and I bought a Chris Craft flathead instead.

Costa Rica was hot but beautiful. We were on the west coast...Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste. I made it a point to drink a beer for every member of Fiberglassics. Check those prices: Margarita, $2.00; Imperial bottled beer, $1.80. My whole red snapper dinner was $13.00!

Actually, I don't even know what karma points are for. Maybe it's a popularity contest? I was just making a joke of it since I wasn't around but still managed to irritate some people. If you knew me, you'd know that I'm the last person who would care about public opinion. (Public opinion made "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "The Beverly Hillbillies" #1 TV shows, not to mention "Keeping Up With the Kardashians!) I just thought it was funny and worthy of comment.

I don't know how it works either,Nautilus. I kinda figured you didn't care as I was kidding with you about it. I guess karma is based on how much you help others??

Nautilus, If you drank a beer for me in Costa rica than you are a friend for life! And your knowledge is always respected by me, although i prefer my snapper pink rather than red. Sorry in advance, and always enjoy the warm weather!!

nautilus, I have seen a few members that have a negative number of karma, so if you drink a beer for me i'll give you a karma. frog

Gee, now you got toooo many. Sitting on a nice warm island drinking cold ones. Gonna have to fix that since I have to sit in a very cold garage staring at a big old merc that is just hoping I get it running again. Skip.

PINK SNAPPER! I love that one.

Yes, I drank a beer for everyone at Fiberglassics...sometime two. I like to do what I can to benefit the local economies when I travel. These two followed me everywhere calling me, "Gringo Supremo." Obviously, they were truly great judges of character.

Dang Jan, how do manage to tick people off and not even be in the country?! Definitely a record of some kind. I wish that Karma thing didn't exist on here. seems silly to me. don't do anything drastic like buy an outboard motor!

Looks like you had a great time on vacation while I was here in freezing temperatures trying to get 225 school buses to start every morning at 10 degrees. (We don't live up north and our stuff likes only WARM WEATHER!)

After serious consideration, I believe it is my karma to never have any time to work on my own boats.

Andrew, you get a karma point for...well, just for the hell of it.

John...been worried about you. Where you been? You doin' OK? You get another karma point just for being a nice guy.

John you did more work for people for free than any man I know. The karma means nothing but popularity thing. I'd say your mighty popular and well received. If there was a vote for most popular person here I'm sure you would right on top.
