Got this powerhouse yesterday.
240 straight six/three on the tree.
No power brakes.
No power windows.
No power locks.
No power steering.
No radio.
Utility and simple. $300 and purrs like a kitten.
Had a wonderful tore-the-flippin-door-clean-off moment while unloading. Made up three new cuss words!

I love it. I had an old 70 version. (next generation) It had a 302 and had a c6 automatic and 4:10 gears. I bought it for $125 and it was full of tires to fit it. It was titles as a station wagon and the only windows in it were in the doors and just the bucket seats and was a 1 1/2 ton by weight capacity. It had drum brakes with no power but did have power steering. It was a bear and would sit and burn rubber with ease. I did because I was young and the c6 was bulletproof and I had about 25 tires for it. It was decent on gas but ride like a covered wagon. I traded in in after a few years when I got my first Scout. I thought I'd never see it again. I took the kids to the Pittsburgh ZOO and there she was sitting off Route 28. I loved that van but it needed less suspension and better brakes.

Great find Neil. Would look good pulling a few of the classics you have. Even cooler as the Mystery Machine pulling a classic like Andreas said!

First day on the road for me with the old girl.
All new tires, 14". Oil change, new coolant, fuel filter.
Had to rebuild the brake cylinder and do the brakes. She purrs like a kitten and the kingpins and steering are all tight. Tranny and rearend seem to be alright.
Mechanically, I believe the old girl is in pretty good shape. It will need a clutch some time this summer, and the valve cover is leaking a little, but other than that, I believe I found a good one. Minor little repairs.
I had to find another top hinge for the drivers door cause I tore it off when I unloaded it at home.(Not just the hinge...the whole door)

Her is the pic I ommitted in the first batch because of embarrassment. :(

If we were closer together John, I would have you use your imagination and do it.
For now I am just using it to commute the 24 mile one way trip to work. I have a co worker that has offered $750 for it just the way it sits.
That would be a neat little profit to use to buy another Merc or use toward the Tollycraft, but it is just soooo fun to drive.

I've been seeing one around the hood lately. White walls, dog dish hub caps, satin black, nice chrome, a large Rat Fink painted on the sides from rocker panel to drip rail, dune buggy whip and flag, roof rack with surf board (surf board has a big shark bite).

$300! Nice score. I have a 2003 E-150. Best truck I ever bought. I've also owned older ones, too. Two words. Bondo and Permatex.

Hey Neil,
I just saw this post for the first time.
I was looking for an old post of mine, and stumbled onto this.
I have a 65 Econoline Pick-up that needs some parts, so I bought a 66 donor van. If you need any parts that I'm not using, you are welcome to them.
