I finally got the Royal Blue MFG burgee from this outfit. Took almost a month to get delivered, but quality is quite good. I'm pleased with it. See:

This is a red one:

Funny you should ask!

As it turns out, my boat came with a chromed metal pole that fits into a notched socket in the bow light, so I'm using that. I ordered this burgee with the brass grommet option. You have a choice of that, or pole pocket like the one in the picture.

This outfit sells a numbers of different styles with vintage boat logos, and a number of color choices. There probably are other suppliers out there, but I ran into these guys in searching and they worked for me.

Cool Flag Dave
I am going to try to get one for my MFG.
Keep sharing anything else you find. I don't see a lot of MFG stuff.

Put it on my wish list with the wife. One would look nice on my Chevron. Thanks!

Hey, I'm just happy to find MFG stuff.

I still want to try to meet Richard Morrison some day.

If maintained and not left outside for storage, MFG boats will outlive all of us, particularly the Niagara, Westfield, and Edinboro. Those things were built like tanks with the fiberglass floors and stringers. I really like the satin finish of the gel coat on the hulls, rather than real shiny gel coat on hulls of most fiberglass boats. The matched metal die hulls were last made in 1973. I remember our local dealer said MFG had a last call for Edinboros then, even though the last year shown in catalogs was 1970. In 1973 when MFG was phasing out the matched metal die hulls (Niagara was last), they made at least a few Edinboros and maybe some Westfields. I know, because this dealer had a brand new 1973 Edinboro he had ordered in Spring, 1973 on his showroom floor that I saw that summer.

For many years afterward, MFG had the dies laying out in the yard of the plant in Union City. My brother remembers driving by the plant once and seeing them just sitting there. Unmistakable shapes.

It was the end of an era.

Not sure why this all came to mind, but it did. I'll blame it on the MFG flag.

Ken, that's what I ordered! Looks great on your Gypsy!

Yours is one of the boats Richard Morrison has on one of his blog entries. Looks like brand new!

We'll have to meet sometime. Wooster is 1 1/4 hours from our house. I know because two of our kids graduated from College of Wooster and traveled the route many times.

I have a 64 Edinboro all restored. Gel was near mint, foam dry but transom was shot from water getting in from the top. It has vintage correct back to backs but have accumulated hardware and pictures from MFG catalogs and ad literature to make a set of sun n fun's...a project for another day. Has a restored 66 Merc 950 6 cyl can't seem to get pics resized to post. They are great riding boats and agree with your take on the construction most excellent in rough water too. I am wondering if the flag has the logo on both sides? and where did you get it?

I "need" one too. Like I tell my grandkids; there is a difference between need and want...Sorry, had a senior moment there for a second.

The link above appears to hit a deadend as if vintageboatsupply.com is out of business. Any other leads. I need, ok want one for my 57' Erie.

First, do no harm!
It's a lot easier to buy a boat than sell a boat.(Stole this from a member!)
All that work and hardware store mailbox letters for the hull? Tsk tsk..
