TOPIC: Steering wheel hub solutions?

Steering wheel hub solutions? 8 years 7 months ago #114186

Hello,

I am putting this wheel on my 1950s Crestliner boat but need a cover for the hub part.

Any suggestions on what I can look at to cover the hole in the center?

It measures 2.6 inches or 65mm in diameter.

It is going to have some washers and the nut in there and probably wont look too good without some kind of insert. lol

Going to use this wheel because the original was in too poor of shape. :P

Looks like Chuck has a better idea than I did I was going to suggest an agricultural wheel hub.

You could have a center cap turned out of wood, I see teak center caps for destroyer wheels all the time.

Hey Darren, hadn't seen you post in a while, glad your still here. ;) That looks like an old Chris Craft or Century wheel, should be able to find something to fill in there. Of course if you go the Chris or Century route it won't be cheap. Not sure what old car that's off of but you can always find one of those on E-bay that should fit it.
