So I bought this boat with a 55hp Chevrolet motor and the Tee Nee trailer in 1996 in Hamburg, NY for $700. I launched it at Bemus Point on Chautauqua Lake, NY about 5 times with friends. Then I parked it at my parents house since a few weeks ago when my Dad insisted I pull it out of the weeds. I brought it to my house and decided to bring it back to life. The motor was mouse infested so I just pulled that off and put it on a pallet. I am no expert and just teaching myself here. I never plan to sell the boat so everything I do is just so my lady friend and I can enjoy taking it out on the water soon.

Notice the weeds growing out of it.

That white stuff looks like a foam but its not. I am power washing the boat and that is just soapy water draining out

So it turns out this area at the bow was full of water so with the help from people on this forum I decided to drill a hole and drain all of it.

I cut off the rub rail and mailed a piece to Wefco Rubber Mfg. for a quote on a new one. They told me $5.50 per foot.

Removing all the fixtures, and windshield

I had to drill out many of the rusty screws a previous owner used. The stainless ones came out easily.

Time for the Sawzall! The rivets holding the two parts together seemed to be copper.

Now it is time to separate the two parts. I used a jack to lift the back part up. I also needed to hammer a piece of wood to separate the epoxy between the fiberglass top and seat connected to the bottom.

I had to angle grind the fiberglass around this part

Building the new transom. I saved the part of the fiberglass up against the previous transom as somewhat of a templet.

So a local marina was nice enough to loan me these jack stands. I am switching to painting the bottom of the boat now so I can return them as soon as possible.

I had in inch it along to squeak the trailer through the stands.

I primed it the best I could with Interlux 2000e. Man that stuff dries fast and is hard to work with. Poor choice by me.

The pain went on much easier. I Am using the "Roll and Tip" method.

I just finished the red tonight!!!!
