Going through CL as I do often I am always coming across listing (Vintage boat ...etc) when you open the ad I often find an 80s to 90s year model boat that just has been let go or just beat to heck. Many times the floor is need of replacing, and/or the transom.

Just hoe many of you are finding the same thing?

I wonder how many think that just because ti is a basket case it is a vintage

I wonder how many are getting hooked with the word Vintage thinking that they found something worth more then what they paid.

I am seeing a lot of this also. I think that these people have no idea of what they have or are tring to pass off junk as vintage. Either way beware of these adds.

The word "Vintage" simply denotes a time period. Many bottles of wine are labeled with the word "vintage" next to the year that the wine was crafted. For example "Vintage - 2007" could be printed on a bottle, even though the wine is only 3 years old.

Most of the people my age (46) consider things form the 60s as vintage. But my dad, who is 80, would just think of stuff from the 1960s as "used"

So really, the meaning of the word is broad, and open to interpretation.

Bottom line, know what you are buying before you fork over the cash.
