CC1000 my cc had small head lights port and starboard at the bow. Pretty sure it was the Delta Ray 17??On the old forum there were photos of it I can't seem to find them now.

Jeeeze Doug, I get so confused! I thought we were trying to keep water out of the inside of our boats. Just kidding, that may be a good idea since you could adjust as necessary to find the right ballast.

Yep, sounds like the Delta Ray.

Love to see those pics if you can find them.

doug, how does that fill. i don't think you'll find many garden hoses at docks, unless your on salt water.

looks like i might of been wrong on my assumption that the mantarays with the center sponson/pod have flat floors. can anyone confirm this....brian?

I believe they sell pumps for them kind of like bilge pumps that you could plug into a cig lighter and pump water in our out. What I would do is get me a little pump to take with me, but fill it up at the house before I left and just pump out a bit at a time until I got it the weight that worked best. It guess it wouldn't hurt to even fill it at the lake with lake water.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

The one in CT has VT registration. There is a guy in southern VT who had one listed last year. Wanted big buck, but seemed like in good shape. He pulled the ad and covered the boat and told me he was going to re-list it in spring. I doubt if it is the same boat cuz that one was in better shape.

60-62 are identical inside. Only difference on the 62 is the external hull mold for the pod. Floors are not flat except in the seating area.

Re:Custom Craft Sighting in East Hartford CT 14 years 1 week ago #3071

in my boat the floor isn't flat anywhere. the front seat base is built to fit over the tunnel, and the rear seat the same except less pronounced.

Re:Custom Craft Sighting in East Hartford CT 14 years 6 days ago #3087

Both my 61 and 62 had seat bracing (2x4) that ran side to side on top of which was attached a piece of plywood. The seats attached to the plywood. The 62 had walkthough sun lounger seats which is probably why. The 61 was absent seats when I got it so was never able to figure out whether it was the ski or touring model. Your back to back ski model seats would not need a flat floor for safe walking is all I can think of, unless the floor was pulled at some point, which seems unlikely.

Re:Custom Craft Sighting in East Hartford CT 14 years 6 days ago #3098

mine isn't the ski model, its the runabout with the rear bench seat. and if the floor was pulled on mine, there would be a huge hole since the hull is the floor. there is no sub-floor. now the ski model with the back to back lounge seats might have had a different floor configuration. is there anyone out there with a 60 or 61 ski model that can post a few pics of there floor. thanks, ron

Pony, it really looks like you might have an Aqua Ray. Take a couple of measures and let me know. Mine is a 64 Aqua Ray that is a barn find from upstate NY. Everything is original. Let me know if you want any info, photos, etc. You can send me a PM if you would like.

The hull number on mine is actually a Dymo label, located upside down on the starboard side of the motor well.

Where are you located?

Ron - if you just look at the Custom Craft photos in the library you'll see what I mean. You can see that the 60 and 61 have bracing and a large piece between the seats. Note the Ski model's back seat is movable and can be position in several places, including against that back like yours. The 62 Premier I have is shown with all the upholtery work and the sun lounger seats. You can see the need for the flat floor here. I agree there is no floor above the tunnel. It's a seating floor I'm talking about.

Looks like an Aqua Ray to me too.

Hope you find that number tag still intact.

Re:Custom Craft Sighting in East Hartford CT 14 years 1 hour ago #3410

before i get confused...

the "inside" of a hull is the "sole" of the boat....this floor thing you guys keep talking about is a "deck"...

so basically to help myself...ron's seats directly on the sole of the boat...where others are mounted directly to the deck.........

oh that area between the sole and the deck is called a void and it usually is filled with 100% encapsulated foam...(think "life preserver") which would be used in areas between the stringers....which separate the "deck" from the "sole"...

sorry...just felt the urge to ramble a little.

That's okay houston, we understand. Did you know that some boats have "soul"? And if you rescue them from the boneyard, you're the "life preserver". ;) (I'm gonna leave the deck reference alone, 'cause it's Sunday and this is a family friendly forum!)

Yep, That boat's definately been used...

But looks ripe to get back on the water again...

It's an easy fix BTW, as there is no wood in the floor...

Custom Craft Sighting in East Hartford CT 5 months 6 days ago #148498

Hello everyone I just bought a Custom Craft and I’m not exactly sure what it is as I’ve seen no other here and in searching. It’s from Kern County in LA . It’s 16 ft long has fins and a cathedral hull and the two headlights in front and had spring suspended back to back seats . It could be a tunnel hull and a Mantaray ? Please shed some light on my new found project and I have no pink slip and am still looking for hull numbers . The trailer looks original and has two Jerry can holder trays up front. Best part is a 70-71 135hp Tower of power and upgraded steering from pulleys to merc cable setup
