TOPIC: Chrysler Post Cards

Chrysler Post Cards 6 years 4 weeks ago #135780

These post cards are in the owners manual cover that is in the glove box of my 1968 Dodge truck. I assume they have been in there since 1968 when my Pawpaw bought the truck new on March 5, 1968. I thought the cards were pretty cool.

First, do no harm!
It's a lot easier to buy a boat than sell a boat.(Stole this from a member!)
All that work and hardware store mailbox letters for the hull? Tsk tsk..

Very cool stuff. Brings back memories. There was a Chrysler dealership across the street from Grandmas house. If I behaved well, Dad would walk us across the street and I would stare through the fence going back and forth like a monkey on that fence trying to make sure I could see every boat and motor. Mostly Sunday’s after church. It was a treat to do it on a Saturday as we could see them test running outboards in the outdoor tank. What’s crazy is that it was a tiny dealer who also sold RCA TV sets in the front store. He lived upstairs... all on a city lot of our small town about a half acre lot with Main Street in front and almost like a Main Street right behind. Early 60s and into 70’s. TV sets and boats. That is one way to have an excuse to go to the marina... especially because you have to visit often to get replacement tubes for the old TV sets. Times really change in 50-60 years. Now TVs are cheap and outboards cost more than my parents house.

When I was a kid we had a Lone Star boat and it had a Chrysler 55. I knew the post cards were there with the owners manual, I had never taken pictures of them. The cards are in like new condition. Glad y'all liked them.
