TOPIC: Arkansas Traveler Frolic 1961?

Arkansas Traveler Frolic 1961? 6 years 4 months ago #134900

Recently purchased a boat and trailer with the understanding that I wanted a trailer for my small aluminum boats. The boat is an Arkansas Traveler Frolic model CSP 151-G. Started researching this boat and found very little information except it looks like it was first available in 1961. The boat has some hull fiberglass issues so am not likely to restore this boat. I was thinking of cutting the boat up for disposal but am willing to offer it up to anyone who may want to restore the boat. If no one wants the boat as a whole, I will remove hardware parts and make them available for someone to restore their boat. Does anyone know what years the Frolic model was available. I can only see brochures offering the Frolic only in 1961 and 1962. Any advice or comment is appreciated.

Nice light, similar to one I just bought but not 'zakly.
If you decide to part the boat to keep the trailer you can probably get your purchase price back with $$$ to spare. The light should fetch no less than $50 more like $75. I paid $175 for mine but it was nos.
Steering system and controls are easily sold on ebay. name tags, windshield if in good condition is worth $100+ Most other hardware likes chocks and stuff are ....eh.

Thanks for the info. My preference is to let the boat go to someone who will restore it. as I am located in Southwest Montana this may be difficult.

Beautiful sunny day today so able to start cleaning out my Arkansas Traveler Frolic. Came across a brass propeller Michigan smc848 and a brass end cap that looks like it threads onto the end of the outboard drive shaft. Pictures attached. Does anyone know what motor this will fit. All info I found is that it is a 9x9 which probably makes if fit a medium size outboard.

Looked up the prop, it was for a 40hp Elgin. Original cost for the brass was $16.50. Recommended for a 14 - 16' runabout. General purpose and skiing.
