Hi, I'll be visiting my son in Madison this weekend. Any suggestions of classic boat shops to visit or meets? I am looking for a windshield for a '62 Lake n Sea, approx 58" tip to tip; anyone in the Madison area have one? vintage trailers; Gator or Tee Nee? Cool project boats? Picture of Lake n Sea I'm working on attached. Have separated halves, replaced transom, stringers and floor, ground out questionable gel coat and now laying up some CSM.
Thanks,
Eric

The Antique & Classic Boat Society has a very active chapter in the Madison area. www.glacbs.com I think. Several of their local members have "home shops". I know of one of them is a classic fiberglass enthusiast

The Boathouse boat restoration shop which is northwest of the airport near county road 113 and M might be a good place to check. Don Anderson is the boss there.

Sorry I am late to this post...however: also for future reference, I have seen several listings on the Madison Craigslist site under boats, then parts. Saw some vintage stuff and believe I saw a windshield as well. I believe several of those listings were from a marina in Lake Mills. If the windshield is still listed, maybe a few measurements could be verified with seller if it were a style that would work. Happy shopping - likely Andreas's leads will provide much more opportunity and expertise .

I've seen the Lake Mills postings, pretty close to where we always go, will have to pop in some time. I always say, we've had almost as much fun picking up items for the boat as working on it. Met some nice people and gotten some good tips on restoring. Also found some cool little local supper clubs and bars.

First, do no harm!
It's a lot easier to buy a boat than sell a boat.(Stole this from a member!)
All that work and hardware store mailbox letters for the hull? Tsk tsk..
