I like the boat...mostly, but she's rough. Don't think much of the steering wheel arrangement. $1,000 bucks seems high for a boat without a motor and a totally rusted trailer. I'm looking at it as a restorer and I see a lot of time and money to put her in the shape I could live with...probably all of $10K, considering the cost of acquisition, restoration, a motor and a trailer...money I'd never see again.

I hate to agree. I looked at current project list and realized I need to be at least a decade younger. Still I am having a friend take a look. Thanks for your input.

For what it is worth, there are 2 Dorset cruisers on Wausau, Wisconsin and Northern Wisconsin Craigslist that look to be in better shape if you are interested. One is boat, motor, and trailer for $400 that you would have to see how much Reston is needed. The other is $1,200 for boat and trailer with no motor, but I think it just needs a motor and is in useable shape without restoration... that could put you way ahead on saving time and money. Let me know if you want me to find those links. One is in Pelican near Rhinelander and the other I think is in Appleton region. Just trying to help. Also check out the Dorsett on "Sightings " for $3,500 includes boat, motor and trailer.

Crazy, but I drove past this boat in West Bend today for work...heading in I had no time...heading out it was down pouring and forgot to look for it...sorry about that...it really caught me off guard as I forgot it was located there...it was on Hwy 33 west of town. Hope you still get someone (who you an depend on) to look at it for you...I did not know I would be there for work today... 2.5 hours from the house. For sure easy to spot from the road.

Same problem I have. Always have my eyes on the sides of the road looking for boats, see one but life calls.

I decided not to go after this one. It will be less expensive buying a complete and in better condition one. It was fun shopping and day dreaming.

Good luck shopping other options. And just to clarify - Cal and I are always "scanning" for wildlife trying to dart out across the road as a safety measure and it is amazing how many boats cross our line of view lol.

Boats don't normally dart across the road unless you're in a James Bond movie. High speed beef on the other hand cost me over $2,400. last time.
