TOPIC: '59 Cutter Jet DeVille Rub Rail

'59 Cutter Jet DeVille Rub Rail 6 years 7 months ago #133232

Finally making progress on the restoration. Was ordering rub rail today and discovered WEFCO #5190 is not what was on my boat. I did the unthinkable, I threw out the old one without saving a sample. If I did save a piece I can't remember where it would be. It sucks to get old and forgetful. Any suggestions about what to use would be greatly appreciated. Jon

Did you ever solve your rub rail issue? I still have the original from my DeVille and could photograph or copy a cross section for you if needed.

Found another Wefco Rubber profile that seemed pretty close to the original based on my memory. It is number 1515.0 in white with a gray insert. It is a little thicker but looks great installed. Had to shave about 1/4" off the back at the ends so the cast aluminum end cap would fit flush to the transom. I'll try to figure out how to post pictures.
