TOPIC: RPMs Homelite and Bear Cat

I knows it here some were but whats the max and best prm's for Homelite and Bear Cat motor?.

5500 max, I run mine up there sometimes and then back it off to 4K. Running a 12 pitch prop on the 16ft aluminum Sylvan, My top rpm is 5400, just right.

This Bear Cat is the one I put on the back for 64 G3. A 11 prop just did not seem to get the speed we wanted so we will be trying a 13 picth prop this time. And will have the tach hooked up so we can see how the rpm's do. Oh with the 11 picth prop all we got was 28mph GPS At this altatude 4500 feet figuer we should get at least 35 mph.

I get 26-28mph tops with the 4 engines I've ran to date. Most of the people I know fall into this range with boats similar to mine. It will be interesting to hear your results with the 13 pitch on the G3. The only way I can get close to 35mph is with the 85hp Bearcat!
